New Board Members

Recently, Friends of the Blufflands added three new members to its board:
Scott Cooper- A full professor of biology at UWL where he began teaching and doing research in 1995. Scott is also the secretary of the board of the Outdoor Recreation Alliance and is active in maintaining trails in lower Hixon and grooming cross country ski trails. He is an accomplished athlete having qualified for the elite wave in the Birkebeiner cross country ski race and for the Ironman in Kona, Hawaii.
Brian Burns- Recently retired from Logistics Health, Brian is a former board member of the ORA and volunteer coordinator for the Wisconsin MTB, a high school and middle school club sport in Wisconsin geared to get more kids on bikes. He is active in many endurance sports including cross country skiing, biking, and running. He loves to hike and can be found frequently on the trails in Hixon as well as those throughout Colorado. Brian is also an avid hunter.
Max Sorenson- Max currently works full time at the Mississippi Valley Conservancy as a Habitat Technician and has an extensive background in habitat restoration. He is an accomplished artist having just completed his term as Artist in Residence at the Bernheim Forest and Arboretum in Kentucky.
