Friends of the Blufflands with the local chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts is conducting a survey for rare voles and mice on Holland Sand Prairie. Rich Staffen, a small mammal expert from the DNR in Madison, came to HSP to help us get started with the survey which will take place over four nights. More to come. Next year we hope to do a similar survey on one of the bluff prairies near La Crosse.
