Alan is a retired optometrist and has lived in La Crosse for 42 years with his spouse Kristin. They have three now-grown children. Hiking and enjoying the beauty of Hixon Forest was a common activity in their household as they watched their children grow. Alan feels privileged to be a member of Friends of the Blufflands as a board member and field volunteer helping with the restoration and expansion of our beautiful prairies and oak savannas. He’s looking forward to spring and the resurgence of his favorite, somewhat unique Leadplant.
