Pat is a retired civil engineer and public works director. He has been active with environmental organizations for 50 years. He currently serves on several nonprofit boards and spends time volunteering at New Amsterdam Grasslands, Holland Sand Prairie, Perrot Park, Van Loon Wildlife Area, and in the La Crosse Blufflands. He is
interested in interactions among wildlife, including predator/prey relations, inter-species messaging, and habitat preferences. He is also interested in the impact of fire, soil, aspect, moisture, insects, and human management on plant succession over time, even understanding there is so much he will never know about allelopathy, soil
microorganisms, mycelium, and interspecies symbiosis that undoubtedly also have important impacts!
