About the Event
We hope to get the savanna cleared of brush for an eventual burn of the entire savanna later this winter or early spring! Students from Viterbo University will be joining us through a program called Service Saturday. Come out and join the fun! Bring a garden rake or long handled shovel if you have one, sturdy and warm boots, warm work gloves, and eye protection. There might be some chainsaws running, so bring ear protection if you have it. We will provide both eye and ear protection for those who don't have it themselves. We will meet at the lower Hixon parking lot at 9:00 and walk back to the savanna along the side of the road to avoid damaging the ski trail, then up to the savanna on the Connector then Savanna Trails. Please RSVP if attending. Hope to see you there!
